Can I trade the news?
The rules differ significantly between evaluation and funded phases, and between programs.
During evaluation: no restrictions
News trading is fully unrestricted during all evaluation phases across every Orion program. You can open, close, and modify trades freely around high-impact news events during your evaluation.
On Orion Trader Accounts: rules vary by program
| Program | News Trading on Funded Account |
| Lite, Standard, Select | 2-min restriction window before and after any high-impact event. No opens, closes, or modifications during this window |
| Standard Swing | No restrictions |
| Zero | Trades within 5 min of a high-impact event are rewarded at 50% instead of 80% |
